Richard enjoyed traveling, golf and his beloved Lions. He was active member for many years in the Forty and Eight Voiture 553, and the American Legion Post 2 where he was serving as Post Commander.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Cristie Fay (Berg) and Dale Vernon McKinnon Sr., and mother-in-law Evelyn Koppenol.
Richard is survived by his wife of 49 years Sandra, children Ian Shawn, Kristie Jean, Jeffrey Jay (Jennifer) McKinnon. He was also the proud grandfather to Zachary Graves and Jacinda, Jade, Julie McKinnon, who he adored very much.
Richard also leaves behind a sister Jean (George) Magnuson, brother Dale V. McKinnon, and a host of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date to be determined.
