Richard F. Waalkes, aged 61, of Grand Rapids passed away on his boat on Monday, May 26, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents Bert and Carol Waalkes. He is survived by his sisters Kathy Davis, Holly (Andy) VerBurg, Julie (Dan) Kent, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Rich loved spending his time on his boat fishing and being with his friends at the Tap. In keeping with Richard’s wishes cremation will take place. Relatives and friends may meet with his family on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 7-9pm for a Memorial Visitation at Reyers North Valley Chapel. There will be a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in memory of Richard to a charity of one’s choice.
