

Robert Louis Van't Hof, aged 90, went to be with his Lord, the Rock of his Salvation, on Monday, December 19, 2016. Bob was born 1926 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Louis and Christine Van't Hof. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Betty Lou [Van Artsen], his son-in-law Jeffrey Vantine, sister Jean Lemke and brother Kenneth Van't Hof. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sandy and David Ferwerda, Terri and Timothy Blanch, Julie Vantine, Bob and Kim Van't Hof and Mark and Connie Van't Hof, and his 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren as well as by his sister-in-law Patricia Van't Hof Hooper. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an avid golfer and an enthusiastic Detroit Tigers fan. Over the years, he and Betty enjoyed camping in the summer months and wintering in Florida with their family and friends. Bob was an active member of Orchard Hill Church, serving in many capacities. He was a successful home builder and was proud that his sons followed in his footsteps. Please join his family in celebrating Robert's life at Orchard Hill Church (1465 3 Mile Rd NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49544) on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11am. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Reyers North Valley Chapel. An additional hour of visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday at church.
