Rowland James Reifinger

Rowland J. Reifinger, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2019 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Blanche Reifinger of Kutztown PA; sisters, Rosa (Ernest) Conrad and Margaret (Wayne) Rauenzahn; and two nieces. He is survived by his children, Ken (Dorothy) Reifinger, Sharon “Shari” (D Robert) Rodriguez; Grandchildren, Amanda Gilbert, Kirk Reifinger, Lindsay Preslar, Jenna Cooper, Gabriel Rodriguez, Nathan Rodriguez and 16 great- grandchildren. Also surviving are two nieces; two nephews, many greats; and brother-in-law, Wayne Rauenzahn. Rowland retired from Meijer and enjoyed his retirement years cheering on his alma mater, Michigan State, doing word puzzles and crosswords, reading, sending birthday cards to all the relatives, playing with friends’ dogs and sharing in coffee hour. In accordance to his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service. There will be a time for fellowship and a light luncheon on Saturday October 5, 2019, at Westminster Meadows Apartments, 1150 Plymouth NE. Grand Rapids, MI 49505 from 1-3 pm to meet with family and friends and celebrate Rowland’s life. Special thanks to nurse, Toya, social worker, Teneshia and aide, April of Spectrum Hospice.
