Ruby Lee Haynes Igleski

Ruby Lee Igleski (Haynes) age 91, passed into the Lord’s hands on September 22, 2010. She was born on November 5, 1918 to Dock and Mattie Haynes in Roanoke, VA. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings; Viola Williamson, Evelyn Rolfe, William Haynes, Robert Haynes, Lucille Etheridge, John Haynes, Vernon Haynes and Doris Polley. Ruby is survived by her husband of 66 years Stephen, daughters; Charlotte (Robert) Lastacy of Hudsonville, Dolores (Dee) Igleski and Mike Van Weezel of Kentwood, grandchildren; Kevin (Esther) Lastacy of Holland, Michelle (Kirk) De Weerd of Allendale, Kyle (Kristin) Lastacy of Hudsonville, great-grandchildren; Courtney, Hunter Lastacy, Lindsay, Aaron De Weerd, Ty Wilson, sister-in-law Doris Igleski of Gilbert, AZ and many nieces and nephews. Ruby was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for over 50 years. She retired after many years of managing the Northbrook Apartments, where she had a multitude of friends. Among her many interests were reading, cooking, playing cards with friends and an occasional trip to a casino. She was a great cook known especially for her Lebanese meat pies. Among her fondest memories were family dinners, camping trips with her family to Interlochen, MI, visiting relatives out of the state and trips with her daughters to Chicago during the Christmas season. In keeping with her wishes Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held 12:30 PM Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Sheldon Meadows Activity Room 4482 Port Sheldon St Hudsonville, MI. Friends and relatives may greet the family from 12:00 till the time of service.
