A lifelong resident of Grand Rapids, Sharon grew up in the Creston neighborhood and graduated from Creston High School. With a natural business sense, Sharon became an accomplished entrepreneur. Over the years, she was the owner of several business ventures including International Event Marketing, Amos and Maude Seasonings and Rosebud Florist.
She was, also, an accomplished author of several books and was mentioned in the dedications of one of Brian Tracy, the motivational speaker’s books.
When she wasn’t working, Sharon was traveling. She found her peace at ocean and soaking up the sun anywhere warm, especially Cancun, Mexico, one of her favorite destinations. She loved animals and the squirrels and chipmunks in her yard were well fed with the walnuts she provided.
Most importantly, Sharon was a devoted mother and loving grandma. She will be remembered best as “Cookie Grandma” the name she earned from her many years of Christmas baking with the grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her children: Brad Potter, Kate (Joe) Firlik, Ben (Jaci) Jackson and Kristy Jackson; her grandchildren: Bradley, Krystal, Kelsey, Sophia, Adalyn, Ben and Joci; her favorite granddog, Biffle and her sister Sandy (Dale) Sikkema as well as many other relatives. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Gloria and Beth Hamacher, and Stevie Hamacher.
A Celebration of Life for Sharon will be held on Sunday February 15, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Private burial will be at Fairplains Cemetery.
