William John Steiner Sr., age 67, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Bill was born in the winter of 1949 to Lawrence and Nellie Steiner. His brother and sister affectionately nicknamed him “Boomer” at a young age, but he preferred to go by Bill instead. Whether you knew him as Boomer or Bill it didn’t matter because he was always an easy going guy. His picture perfect day would have been sleeping in late only to wake up to a big brunch style breakfast and to top it off spend the rest of the day floating on the inner tube in the pool. Bill married the love of his life, Edna, in May of 1979. Bill and Edna went on to have 3 wonderful sons William Jr, and twin boys Michael and Edward. Bill spent 32 dedicated years of his working life at Keeler Brass Company as a Hi-Lo operator until the company closed its Grand Rapids operations. He will be remembered as a man that loved his cabin and the outdoors. Bill would often be fishing on Big Star Lake, out hunting with friends or grabbing an ice-cream at Jones’ in Baldwin. Bill also had a love for bowling, after all its how he and Edna met for the first time. He was a hardworking and charitable man, donating his time to help the Aberdeen Reformed Church’s Angel Food Ministry and the Food Truck Drives. Bill is now reunited with his parents, his son Michael, and brother Bob in Heaven. He will be remembered as a loving husband, good father, and dependable friend by his wife Edna, sons William Jr. and Edward, sister Carole and Bill Bugard, sister-in-law Linda and Ken Hollenbeck as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Bill’s Family invites you to join them at Reyers North Valley Chapel for a time of visitation on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Aberdeen Reformed Church (1000 Aberdeen St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505) at 1pm on Monday, March 7, 2016 with additional visitation prior beginning at 11am. Bill was a caring member of Aberdeen Reformed Church, those who would like to make a memorial contribution in his honor please make them to Aberdeen Reformed Church.
