Carol Huff (best known as “Mom” to many friends in Grandview) 65 years old passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2021. Born Carol Joan Urton on September 2, 1955 in Kansas City MO to Roger Wilson Urton and Julia Urton. Carol worked for the federal government in many capacities since the age of 17, from IRS, Federal Records Center to the US Postal Service. After leaving the post office she worked at several temporary jobs to just bring in a little spending money.
She loved to have money in her pocket. Carol was an adventurous person and loved to travel. She often just took off and started driving wherever the road took her. No destination in mind, she just liked seeing the country. It’s hard to say how many times she called from other states just to check in and to tell us where she was and that she was ok. She loved children, animals, and people and had a heart as big as the sky. If there was anyone or any animal who needed a warm place to stay or a good meal, she would take them in without question.
Carol is preceded in death by her mother Julia, her father Roger, and her brothers Ray Edward Urton and Thomas Richard Urton. She is survived by her husband Carl Huff of the home and her sister Denise Blackburn of Jamesport MO. She is also survived by her nieces Tracy Dodd of Kansas City MO, Angela Reed of Apollo Beach FL, Julia “Lena” Parker of Fayette MO, Matthew Ray Urton, Mindy (Urton) Oldham, Michael (Mikey) Roger Urton of Smithville MO.
Services will be held Tuesday evening, August 24, 2021 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the McGilley & George Funeral Home 12913 Grandview Rd, Grandview MO.
