Richard A. Mitchell, 82, a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area passed away January 9, 2012. Visitation 2-3 p.m., and a 3 p.m. memorial service on Sunday, January 15, at McGilley & George Funeral Home in Grandview. Contributions suggested to a charity of your choice . Richard was born March 13, 1929 in Salem, NE, to Orly and Esther Snyder Mitchell. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Richard was a mail carrier for the US Postal service. Preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Travis. Survived by wife, Mary Copeland Mitchell, of the home; daughter, Gaila and husband, Craig Miller, Lee's Summit MO; brother, Jerry; sister, Betty, and granddaughter, Shannon.
