Our choir at St. Matthew the Apostle was certainly fortunate to have Dorothy as our “star soprano”!  We all loved her and appreciated her for her character, presence, friendship and of course for her singing voice.  Dorothy was a beautiful soul both inside and out.   She was a classy lady indeed and always dressed so nice.  For Pentecost she would wear red, purple for the Triduum, white for Easter and so on!  I will miss seeing and talking to her.  
My condolences are with all of your family.  Her spirit will live on in you!  May God Bless all of you with His love, hope and peace,

Dorothy and Harold were members of St. Matthew Apostle Church for many years. Dorothy sang in the choir which I directed for many many years. She was the epitome of class as was Harold. The last time I saw her before St. Matt's closed, we were entering church for mass.  She said, "Do you suppose we'll get to sing any peppy music today?" I had retired years before and we  both liked "peppy music."  I replied that we should make plans to go to St. Monica's church one Sunday. They used to sing there with some "zip & pep."  Then covid happened  and our church closed but now she is singing with a heavenly choir and I'm sure she'll request a hand clappin' toe tappin' hymn.

Aunt Dorothy Mae, anytime I saw you or spoke with you on the phone, you were always so sweet and kind. I spoke with you a few months ago and you were so happy to hear about your great nephews and what they were up to. You will always be in our hearts and in spirit and never forgotten. Love you always! Sending prayers, hugs and love to everyone.

My sister , was a beautiful person, all through life we share the same ideas.The most important thing was helping other. She live a spiritual life and her children brought joy into her life. She is going to be miss may she have eternal rest.Love you my sister.

Well, sister-in-law, just want to thank you  again for all the prayers, calls & beautiful cards that you would send for anniversaries, birthdays and all other holidays. You never miss any of them.  It’s hard to say good bye but,  I know you are not suffering anymore. I don’t know if you knew it , but whenever you all would leave after visiting, your mom would cry. Now you are with her & I know you both are very happy. RIP. Love you ,Gloria 

My Dearest Dorothy one of the finest memories I have was in 1955 I came to Norfolk and Jack and I babysit with Harold Jr so you and Harold could go see the movie The Seven Year Itch and that was October 1955 and the in the summer of 1958 I was sixteen I flew to New Your City and caught a train at Grand Central to Providence an then a bus to Newport, I spent the whole summer with you while Harold was on a Med cruise we went to mass and after mass we went to Cape Cod, I love you and always will, Rest In Peace, your baby brother, Bobby

Loving condolences to the children, grandchildren, sister and brother, family, and friends of Aunt Dorothy.  I will miss our twice-monthly phone calls and when she fondly shared with me the many educational and sometimes hilarious stories about her growing up and our ancestry and traveling with Uncle Harold and her kids.  I will miss our talks. In September 2018 when I visited and went to church with her, I had an opportunity to witness her continued faith.  
God's words are eternal. The way up ‘Whoever serves me must follow me; where I am, my servant also will be.  My father will honor the one who serves me.” ~ John 12:26.  Aunt Dorothy served God and her family, and others for many years and she held onto “that old rugged cross!” 
Again, please accept our prayerful condolences, it is now time for my beautiful Aunt; loving lady, mom, and grandmother to receive her prize and rest in peace and God’s glory.

Thank you for treating me as one of your own for the last 30 years. It has been an inspiration and joy knowing you. You have always been there for us in our time of need over the years with your wisdom, Grace and joy for life. I see so much of you in Felicia and Miles and I consider myself Blessed to have had them and you in my life.
Rest in well-deserved Peace.

Our condolences goes out to our family! Aunt Dorothy Mae was a precious flower that God had chosen to pick! He doesn’t make any mistakes! Just know that weeping may endure for a night but joy will come in the morning!  May she rest in beautiful peace!  We are here for you all if you need to call or a shoulder to lean on!
