Edward John Perkins

Edward J. Perkins, 91, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2011. The Rosary will be prayed at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, 4101 E. 105th Terr., Kansas City, MO, Thursday April 28, 2011 starting at 6 p.m. followed by visitation with the family. Mizzou attire is welcomed. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday April 29 at St. Catherine's. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet in Kansas City. Edward was born September 15, 1919 to Robert and Mary Perkins, the seventh of nine children. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, where he met the love of his life, Josephine "Josie" Hiesberger whom he wed on June 12, 1943. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2007. They raised five loving children: Karen, Harold, Kevin, Kathy who preceded him in death on September 30, 2009, and Edward Jr. He leaves six grandchildren: Kristi, Suzanne, Kathy, Andy, Joshua, and Jordan and four great- grandchildren: Olivia, Connor, Aniya, and Colin. Edward was a devoted husband, father, and provider who always responded to an M-I-Z with a Z-O-U. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Knights of Columbus where Ed was a Fourth Degree Knight (K of C Council 4387, 5111 E 112th Terr, KCMO 64137 please make checks payable to O'Hara Council #4387).
