
James (Jim) Howard Clark was born on April 16, 1934 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Arthur and Pearl (Dickinson) Clark. Jim went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 29, 2014 in Kansas City, Missouri. Jim was raised in McCune, Kansas were he graduated from McCune High School in 1953. After graduation, he joined the Navy where he proudly served his country for four years. Upon completion of his service in the Navy, Jim attended the University of Kansas (KU) where he received his bachelor and master’s degrees.
Upon graduating from KU Jim began his teaching and coaching career at Ruskin High School where he served for 26 years. After retiring from Ruskin he continued to coach track and wrestling at various schools throughout the Kansas City area. In March 2012 Jim was inducted to the Missouri Wrestling Hall of Fame followed by an induction into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, Oklahoma in October of 2013.
Jim has been an active member of Central Free Will Baptist Church in Grandview, MO for over twenty years and was also an active member of the Heart of America Chorus.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John, and sister, Trudy.
Jim leaves behind many cherished memories for his loving wife of 55 years Mavis, son James L. and Beth Clark of Enid, OK, daughters Ann Clark, Enid, OK, and Julie Caton, Olathe, KS, three brothers, Marvin Clark, Bill Clark, and Larry Clark, and one sister Kay Koelling. Along with grandchildren Melanie (Theo) Ramseyer, Kalin Caton, Jamie Clark (fiancé Brandon Davis) and Devin Caton.

Memorial contributions may be made to University of Kansas Alzheimer Disease Center or the Jim Clark Wrestling Legacy Fund through the church
