

Jim was born in 1947 to Bruce and Betty Lewis of Independence, Missouri. After graduating from Truman High School in Independence, he worked at various jobs, and found his career as a warehouseman for JC Penney, working at the Lenexa, Kansas facility until his retirement in 2009.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Betty Lewis. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lewis; his daughter, Karen Swearingin of Warrensburg, Missouri; two grandchildren who were the light of his life, Tiffany and Sean; his brother, Larry Lewis of Portland, Oregon; his sister, Kathy Burt of Great Bend, Kansas, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on October 16, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m., at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 12913 Grandview Road, Grandview, Missouri. Jim’s cremated remains will be scattered at his beloved Lake of the Ozarks at a later time.
