

James Peacock, 73, Lee's Summit, Died February 11th, 2016 after a short battle with cancer. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 16th from 5-8pm and 10-10:45am on Wednesday. Services will be Wednesday February 17th at 11am. Both will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 5901 E. 135th St. Grandview, MO.
James was born December 23, 1942 in Gary, IN to George & Murrel (Warren) Peacock. His family moved to Bicknell and then Bruceville, IN, where James graduated in May 1960. He enlisted in the Air Force in May 1961. He spent 33 years in the Air Force, primarily with the 442nd Fighter Wing at R-G Air Force Base. He retired from the Air Force in October 1994. After retirement, he worked at Longview College for 16 years as a test proctor. He retired for good in May 2011.
He married Alice Bodtke on October 9, 1965, in Hebron, NE. The couple celebrated 50 years of marriage last October. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and belonged to FWI Boosters.
He is survived by wife Alice and Daughter Tammy of the home, one son, Jim, and wife Shawna of Greenwood; grandchildren Will & Natalie Peacock; sister Debbie Weber and brother Henry Peacock of Bruceville, IN, and many other family members and friends.
He loved to travel and loved basketball, especially the Indiana Hoosiers.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the church or the American Cancer Society.
