Janet Jan L. Gravit Wyatt

Janet “Jan” Louise Wyatt, 75, of Kansas City, MO passed away Monday, February 14, 2011. Visitation will be held Monday, February 21, 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at McGilley and George Funeral Home, 12913 Grandview Road, Grandview, Mo. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association.

Janet was born July 28, 1935 in Moulton, Iowa to Lester and Cleo Gravit. On August 2, 1980 she married Kenneth E. Wyatt. Jan was a devoted wife and mother. She was an avid reader and loved to travel. Her favorite place to visit was Ireland.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dwight and Byron Gravit; one son, Tim Wyatt; and three grandchildren, Christopher Wheeler, Rebecca and Jimmy Wyatt. She leaves behind her husband of 30 years, Kenneth Wyatt, of the home; three sons, Melvin Wheeler, Cairo, Mo., Bruce Wheeler, Kansas City, Mo., Tom Wyatt, Foley, Mo.; two daughters, Cindy Bastian, Grandview, Mo., Cathy and husband Dale Bays, D.D.S., Willmar, Mn.; nine grandchildren; Tisha Tolle and husband Marion, Dusty Wheeler and wife Sarah, Jason Bastian, Brent Bastian and wife Abby, Jennifer Wyatt, Joseph Wyatt, Justin Wyatt, Jessica Bays, Matthew Bays and nine great-grandchildren; Malcom, Austin and Rachelle Tolle, Payton, Palmer and Presley Petite, Hunter Wyatt, Ryder and Benjamin Bastian.

Janet died after an extended illness. Grew up in southern Iowa, lived many years in northern Mo, southwest Mo and the lived the last 20 years in Kansas City, Mo.
