Anne M. Fitzgerald

FITZGERALD- Anne M. Fitzgerald passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012. Anne is preceded in death by her father, Edwin Fitzgerald, her mother, Hazel Fitzgerald, and her brother John Fitzgerald. Anne spent her life as a devout Catholic, a caring teacher, a good friend too many, and a loving aunt to her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Though her health may have limited her physically over the last few years, she never lost her love of learning, her attention to the lives of others, or her interest in (or opinion of) the world around her.

Anne is survived by three of her siblings, Mike (Linda) Fitzgerald of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Margaret Rice of Los Angeles, California, and Kathy (Terry) Priest of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Aunt Anne will be greatly missed by her 14 nieces and nephews, as well as dozens of grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She also leaves behind hundreds of former students who were fortunate to have had her as a teacher and the countless friends and thoughtful neighbors who were such a large part of her life, comfort, and well-being each day.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2700 Baldwin Dr., Jenison, with Fr. Donald Webber celebrant, with a rosary prior to Mass at 10:15 am. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookfamilycares.com. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to West Michigan Food Bank.
