There are so many memories of my Grandmother it is hard to pick one, and that, I think was and is part of her magic. She was a woman who created amazement and life long memories from a seemingly mundane day. To her every day was an adventure to be remembered. I want to share one of my favorite memories that always seems to get brought back up. Rick and I were in GRR for the summer and Rick had spent the night at uncle Chucks house with Patrick. Me and Grandma were hoping in the infamous Grey Ghost and heading to the lake to meet them the next day. Now not for nothing my grandmother appreciated beauty and loved her some flowers and gardening. She took her time to appreciate the color...unfortunately a particularly spectacular garden caught her eye as we were traveling at 45 mph down a two lane road...and as she took her time to appreciate the beauty the van drifted to the right which so happened to be a rather robust corn field...me...sitting in the passenger seat...feet up windows open had the pucker factor maxed and was frantically ramping up my attempts to get grandmas attention...now we are making quite the divot into the corn stalks at this point as I am being whipped in the face with corn through the window, Grandma calmly pulls the van back onto the lane leaving a suspicious chevy conversion van size path through the edge of the corn field...she says "oh well" then proceeds to look at me with the side eye and say, "Charlie you dont tell me how to drive, I've been driving for decades...now throw that corn out the window...those were very colorful flowers" "okay Grandma." I love her and miss her so much. I am blessed to have had her meet my children and wife.

I was Barb’s favorite son-in-law. Full self-disclosure dictates that I admit that I was also her only son-in-law. My relationship with Barb was unique and complex. 
During the early years of my marriage to her daughter, Bonnie, Barb and I cautiously navigated our way through a “wait and see” period which I expect is fairly common for two strong personalities. We two found our middle ground of respect and caring and our relationship flourished until the end of her days. In the final days of Barb’s life she reminded me that I “spoiled” her daughter. Personally, I think she loved that very fact.
Barb never met a casino she didn’t like. She lived and loved adventure, sharing that adventuresome spirit with her kids and grandkids. 
Barb had a stroke a few years prior to her passing which left her with a frustrating slightly slurred speech and some physical challenges. Those challenges did not stop the casino visits ever. She was very alert and could discuss any topic you choose and still had a sense of humor. She may have experienced a few additional mini-strokes and they took their toll over the years. Upon entering hospice care, the Doctors gave her just days to live but she lasted a whole lot longer until all of her family came to say their goodbyes. She was a very strong woman and fought right to the end. I cared for her greatly and will miss her matter of fact approach to life. Her passing has left a void in the lives of many. God bless.

One memory I will never forget was the first time I met her. It was at our wedding :blush: The love she gave me was something I will never forget! The compassion, the naughty grandma she was made my day and Ricks even more memorable! There are many more memories of her but this one really was the one that I hold dear to my heart! I will miss her but I know she is looking down on all of us smiling!!!!

Barbara and I were very close when we were children.  We spent a week each summer at each other's homes, shared girl talk in our teens.  Barb visited me every year when I was at college, and she loaned me a long dress to wear to college formal dances.   I even borrowed her wedding gown.  Good memories from way back. So many memories of “Naughty Grandma.”  I will always remember flying in to GRR and wondering if grandma would be hiding in the terminal waiting to jump out and surprise us as we came off the airplane. I always looked forward to spending summers in GR and wondered what kind of bum trip adventure we would go on. Often times, grandma never even knew. All we knew for sure was that we were getting in her van and driving somewhere. They were always fun trips. I love you grandma, you will be missed everyday!

This is the greatest loss I have ever felt..Our mom was the most intelligent,funniest, creative, talented , ,giving person there ever was..I have learned so much from her and I will miss her everyday..Patti:heart::heart:

My mom was the most generous person I know. She was an independent and great lady that knew only of giving and helping. She gave everyone of us our sense of adventure and taught us to stand in our own two feet! Mom you will be missed more than you will ever know. I love you always!:heart::heart:
