Barbara Mae Veenstra

Barbara Mae Veenstra (Pastoor), age 86, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, March 24, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis Veenstra Jr.; daughter and son-in-law Nancee (Jim) Cole; parents Clarence (Agnes) Pastoor; step-father Ralph Bekkering; in-laws Jessie (Lou) Veenstra; brothers-and-sister-in-law Jerry (Laura) Pastoor, John Veenstra, Ralph (Lena) Veenstra, August Veenstra, Paul Veenstra, Wilma (Nelson) Wierenga, Margaret (Garrett) Meekhof.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Carol (Kevin) Roberts; grandchildren Katie (John) Copelan, Justin Roberts, Ashleigh Roberts, Deb Snyder, Doreen (George) Seldon, Jim (Renee) Cole; great-grandchildren Ashley and Steven Snyder, Thomas and William Seldon, Cameron Cole, Harper, Evan, and Leah Copelan; sisters-in-law Elaine Veenstra, Evelyn Veenstra, Audrey Veenstra, Donna Pastoor; many loving nieces and nephews.

Barbara enjoyed working for Steketee's, as well as Pastoor’s Market on Michigan Hill and the Middleville store for many years with her father, late husband and daughters. She spent time in the store coming to know customers as close friends. She loved to spend time pontooning on Barlow Lake.

The family would like to thank the loving staff of Green Acres Assisted Living for all their care.

Visitation with the family will be held from 4-8 PM Monday, March 28, 2016 at Cook Funeral Home - 2067 84th Street, Byron Center, MI. Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, March 29 2016 with visitation one hour prior at Peace Church – 6950 Cherry Valley Road, Middleville, MI 49333. Pastor Ken Kuiper will be officiating. Interment will be at Coman Cemetery - Yankee Springs Township.
