Bernadette Cooper

Bernadette Cooper, age 98, after a brief illness went to be with her Lord, Monday, May 14, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Cooper; her parents, Angelo and Mary Ferrante; her son-in-law, Donald Nelson; and her siblings Rosalie Russo, Sam Ferrante, and Vito Ferrante. Bernadette will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mary Ann Nelson; her grandchildren Donna and Bob Ott, Mary Lynn and Matt Ford, Michael Nelson; her great-grandchildren Melanee and Justin Bazan, Michelle and Travis Sharar, Matthew, Gabriel, Andrew Ford, Jacob Nelson; and her great-great grandchildren Brennan, Cowin, Capri, Emma. Bernadette’s family would like to thank the compassionate staff of Rose Garden Assisted Living in Grandville. She was a great cook. Everyone in the family received a handmade afghan that they will cherish. Bernadette’s family and friends depended on her for prayers when needed. A time for relatives and friends to visit with family from 5 to 8 PM with a Rosary at 7:30 PM Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Cook Funeral Home, 4235 Prairie St. SW, in Grandville (west building). Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, May 17, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson SW, Grandville with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. Father Chris Rouech will officiate. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church – Mission Fund or Faith Hospice.
