I will always remember Bonnie as the "cool" mom in the neighborhood.  She played London Bridge with us, piled us into the back of the truck and took us to Highs, and sat with us to watch Dark Shadows in her living room.  I can still see her ironing Gary's uniforms and serving him ice cream every night.  When Daniel came along, she still loved me and never made me feel ashamed.  I'll always remember that she gave Daniel a big plastic Santa for the yard and that she always sent home chocolate muffins for him.  Bonnie you were loved by everyone.  I'm feeling so sad, but have comfort in knowing that you are with Elaine.  Please give her a kiss for me and tell her that I love her.

Neighborhood was never the same once Bonnie moved in with her family, she was quite a character with such a great sense of humor and a heart :heart: bigger than most. She will be missed but heaven is a little more lively now. Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.

I grew up right down the road a couple houses in Jenison from Bonnie and Gary. We always called her Maw Maw.  She babysat me here and there when I was little, and when I got to the age I could drive, I of course started out with Fords. Needless to say she would always give me a hard time because I wasn’t a Chevy person at the time lol.  She was always upbeat and funny. I was fortunate enough to stop by and say hi and let her meet my daughter earlier this year with my mom and she was of course her usual self. She will be greatly missed all of us!

I grew up at Beards Fork, WV with Bonnie and in Kimberly, Wv with Gary whom as children we called him Bozo.  Loved them both and their families.   Praying for comfort for the family.

Gary, Terri and family: What a wonderful family you are. Bonnie often talked about you Gary what a wonderful husband you were. We are so sorry our health would not allow us to travel to see you. Often heard stories about the great family she had. We were both thankful our daughters cared and helped each of us so much. She always had nice things to say about Jeffery (we knew him when he was a baby in Washington) and what a blessing Lloyd was. She loved her grandchildren and all of her family so much. The last time we communicated was 9/23/19 and she told me what the doctor said. I can't believe she is gone already. She was a  lovely friend and we will always remember her.

Bonnie and I grew up in the same West Virginia coal camp hollow.  Although she and Gary married before Fred and I, we somehow wound up as young Navy wives in Norfolk, VA, in 1970.  We were so young and full of life.  We never got together that we didn't spend 95 percent of our time laughing.  We learned how to stretch a quarter at the commissary.  We cried together when we were homesick and fussed about our siblings when our moms told us about something foolish they had done.  We thought we were so grown up and so wise.  Our imaginations could not possibly take us to the Joy's our kids would bring us in the future nor to the struggles we would face.  Bonnie was joy and fun and home to me.
