Brian Paul Kaule, age 66, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, October 19, 2023. Brian was born August 10, 1957 to Leonard and LouAnn Kaule. He grew up on the old Kaule homestead where he enjoyed chores and picking blueberries every summer. After graduating from Reeths-Puffer High School in 1976, he joined and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.
After being honorably discharged, he worked as an electrician for a number of years. Brian would say that the greatest event of his life was when he accepted Christ as his personal Savior in March of 1996. In October of 1996, Brian suffered a traumatic injury making him a quadriplegic. By God’s grace, Brian chose to use this experience to make himself a servant of the Lord. He first served at Faith Baptist Church in Muskegon, MI and later, Georgetown Bible Church in Hudsonville, MI. He met and married the love of his life, Esther, in 2004 and they resided in Hudsonville. He served his community as an exuberant greeter at Meijer. “Bienvenido a Meijer!”
Brian also enjoyed spending time outdoors in God’s creation while deer hunting. He had a wonderfully dry sense of humor and loved sharing “dad jokes” with his family and also cheering on the Lions. He cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandkids. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Kaule; children Amy Sikkema, Mandie (Mike) Shoemaker, Angela (Jose) Mora, Aleasha (Trevin) Wyma; 11 grandchildren; sisters Kathy (Jim) Swieringa, Kim (Ken) Dalga; brother, Jeff Kaule; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and LouAnn Kaule; brother, Michael Kaule; sister, Bridget (née Kaule) Fisher; brother-in-law, Daniel Swieringa; and son-in-law, Kevin Sikkema.
A funeral service celebrating Brian’s life will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Georgetown Bible Church, 4114 Baldwin St., Hudsonville, MI 49426, with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. In memory of Brian and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the benevolent fund at Georgetown Bible Church.
