HAYS - Carl R. Hays, age 96 of Jenison, formerly of Sturgis, MI, passed away Monday, November 6, 2000. He was preceded in death by his son Lee; two brothers, Edgar and Laban; and one sister Edith Filkins. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Marion; one son Brent Sandy Hays; two granddaughters, Holly Hays and Laurie Mike Grypma; one sister Mary Wotring of Clearwater, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday 1 p.m. at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie SW east building with Pastor Dan Hoven officiating. The family will meet relatives and friends Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home west building. Memorial contributions may be made to the March of Dimes.
