

Char graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Char was a gifted writer, with her work appearing in numerous magazines; and a nutrition researcher, devoted to helping people find solutions for their cancer through food. Out of her own experience with cancer, Char co-founded Hope Through the Storm Ministries, a non-profit dedicated to helping those facing serious illness or disability. She also sponsored two children in Ethiopia through Compassion International.
She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Catherine Miller.
Char will be lovingly remembered by her family including her husband of 33 years, Steve; sisters Sharon (Steve) Van Loon and Karol (Kevin) Belk; nephews and nieces Tyler (Kelly) Van Loon, Brady (Erica) Van Loon, Matthew (Kendra) Belk, Emilee Belk, and Kaylee Belk.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Calvary Church, 707 E. Beltline Ave., NE, Grand Rapids, MI. Relatives and friends may meet Char’s family Friday, June 14, 2019 from 5-8 PM at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St., SW, Grandville and Saturday from 10-11 AM at church. Interment will be at Blythefield Memory Gardens.
