Charles Bradford Hanlon, age 90, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to be with the Lord February 22, 2025. He was born January 19, 1935 in Plymouth, MI and had just celebrated his 90th birthday, surrounded by an abundance of friends and family.
Chuck was a proud veteran and had retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He then enjoyed a career in purchasing at Haworth and Hart and Cooley and also some part-time woodworking for a small church furniture manufacturer. He enjoyed traveling to such places as Italy, China, Ireland, England, and Alaska. When he was home, he loved spending time with friends and family. He loved his church, Bauer Community Fellowship, and all of his great times at Camp Barakel in Fairview, MI.
Chuck was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce Hanlon; as well as his parents Charles A. and Ruth Hanlon. He is survived by his children Chuck (Renee) Hanlon and Janelle Washburne; grandchildren Jessica Hanlon, Kelsey (Chris) Pelzer, Dillon Hanlon, Max (Laura) Washburne, and Tyler (Sarah) Washburne; great-grandchildren Charlotte and Finn Pelzer and Cameron Washburne.
A special thank you to all of the caregivers at Green Acres assisted living in Allendale whom he loved immensely and also to the team at Corewell Hospice who ensured his transition to Heaven went smoothly. Chuck was a big giver, so in lieu of flowers, donations to Bauer Community Fellowship would be appreciated.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Bauer Community Fellowship, 4852 Bauer Rd., Hudsonville, MI 49426. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guestbook online.
