Christine Van Zytveld, age 93, true prayer warrior, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, January 6, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Philmore Van Zytveld; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Van Zytveld; parents Ralph and Clara Haverkamp; siblings Martha (Frank) Beadle, Harvey (Lorraine) Haverkamp, Peter C. Haverkamp, Jayne (Gerard) Geelhoed, and Anna (Engel) Knapper; and brothers-in-law Robert Van Zee and Charles (Mary) Van Zytveld.
Christine will be lovingly remembered by her children Steve Van Zytveld, Jeanne and John Nieuwenhuis, Ron and Elaine Van Zytveld, Kathy and Fred Cook, Mary and Tim Bouma, Philip and Cynthia Van Zytveld, David and Betsy Van Zytveld; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Jackie) Haverkamp; sister-in-law, Ruth Kamminga; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Christine was thankful to God for the blessing of her large family. The family would like to express their appreciation to her special granddaughter, Katie, for her dedicated care.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2026, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m., at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan. Pastor Ron Messelink will officiate. Interment will be at Grandville Cemetery.
