

David L. Irwin, age 80, of Byron Center on May 21, 2016 completed his earthly journey and was received into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie E. Irwin and his sister Mary Kooyers of Ann Arbor.
He is survived by son David, Jr. of Grandville and daughter Beth (Dean) Buurstra of Byron Center. He is also survived by his sister Kay Mekkes of Jenison, his brother Leslie E. (Mary) of Wyoming and brother-in-law Harold Kooyers of Ann Arbor. He leaves eight grandchildren Brandon, Rebecca (Bob) Woronko, Amanda, Rachael, Christopher, Julie (Chris Hatcher) and Ben (Lauren Vincent) and four great-grandchildren Bailey, Cooper, Reagan and Walker. He also leaves a close friend and companion Nancy Batt of Jenison. He will be greatly missed by many friends and relatives.
Funeral services for David will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 26 at the First Reformed Church of Grandville, 3060 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home (West Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. A private interment will be at Boynton Cemetery, Byron Twp.
