Dave grew up on the family farm in Beaverdam with his parents and eight siblings before relocating to Jenison after marrying his wife, Sandy, in 1986. Dave prided himself in his faith, family, and work. As a longtime member of Hanley CRC in Grandville, he spent time as a deacon, usher, Sunday school and catechism teacher, and Sunday school superintendent. During high school, he attended the Careerline Tech Center and gained his degree in HVAC. He worked many years at Hudsonville Heating and Cooling before moving on to work with his father-in-law at Simon Koster & Sons Excavating for 11 years. The last 15 years he loved working alongside his good friends at Construction Refuse. He enjoyed sharing his work with his daughters as they grew up, having them help set up ductwork or riding along in the big trucks. When the grandkids came along, Dave made sure they also got to ride in the trucks. He attended every sports game, band performance, or any other activity in which his daughters and grandkids participated.
