

Deb had a caring heart and worked as an LPN for over 40 years at Blodgett Hospital, Holland Home, and Sunset Manor. She was involved with dog and cat rescue for over 30 years. Deb loved all of God’s creatures. Deb was also a longtime member of Mars Hill Bible Church in Grandville, MI.
Deb is survived by her husband of 43 years, John Meppelink; sons Aaron Meppelink, Kyle Meppelink; sisters Diana (Jack) Brandt, Dawn Newhouse, Denise (Ryan) Poortenga; bonus sister, Sara (Jeremy) Huffman; in-laws Sue and Bob Boland, Carolyn Meppelink; aunts Laurie Newhouse, Marilyn Boeve, Nancy Boeve, Beth Boeve; uncle and aunt Calvin and Connie Boeve; many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Deb was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Rosalie Newhouse and her niece, Aubrey Kutsche. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the precious caregivers that took care of Deb.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2025 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. A memorial service celebrating Deb’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), with visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Pastor Tim Nelson will be presiding. Deb will be laid to rest at Grandville Cemetery. In memory of Deb and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crash’s Landing (cat rescue) or Faith Hospice.
