He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-nine years, Doreen Coates; sons David (Marcia) Coates, Doug (Deborah) Coates, Dean (Joan) Coates; grandchildren Todd (Hannah) Coates, Tonya Coates, Alexis (Augustine) Manzanares, Olivia Coates, Melissa (Martin) Dredge, Jared Coates; two great grandchildren; sisters Iris Bruhnke, Cynthia (John) Gorman; sister-in-law Lila (Keith) Cammet; brother-in-laws Lyle (Edna) Bezile, Richard (Judy) Bezile; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation from 9-11 am and memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday at Wesley Park United Methodist Church 1150 32nd Street SW, Wyoming with Rev. Dean Prentiss officiating.
