He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Evans; parents Frank and Margaret Evans; and brother, Dick Evans.
He will be remembered by his son, Gordon (Laurie) Evans; grandchildren Tyler (Amy) Evans, Loni (Neil) Rich, Kristen (Josh) Brumels, Daniel Homrich and Mitchell Homrich; six great-grandchildren; siblings Phyllis Nystrom and Mary Ellen Scott; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Don served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors, loved camping and adored his family. He will be missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2018 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East building), 4235 Prairie, S.W., Grandville, MI 49418. Pastor Larry Miller will be officiating.
In honor of Donald and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
