VANDER LAAN – Doris Irene Vander Laan age 90, of Grandville, Michigan went home peacefully to be with her Lord Friday, December 4, 2015. She was born September 20, 1925 the daughter of Herman and Anna (Cook) Deters.
Doris is survived by her son Al (Carla) Vander Laan; her daughters, Diane (Gary) Hanna, Nancy (Phil) VanTil, Karen (Tom) Dennis and Barb (Mark) Jipping; 18 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; two sisters, June Bushen and Joyce DeBruyn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents and two brothers, Howard and Gordon Deters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building) 4235 Prairie Street, SW Grandville. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Cook Funeral Home (West Building) Monday, December 7, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to service. Interment will take place in the Grandville Cemetery.
