Eduardo Martinez

Eduardo was the second youngest of seven siblings. He graduated from Grand Rapids Community College with his associate degree in arts. At the age of 15, Eduardo confessed his love for the Lord and attended Grand Rapids First faithfully. Eduardo enjoyed watching football, hanging with friends, and spending time outdoors. He loved family time spent together the most.

Eduardo’s life will forever be cherished by his parents; siblings Paula Moran and Jeremiah Moran Sr., Èlia Ortiz, Josefina Escalera, Maria DeJesus, Cristina Romo and Leonardo Romo Jr., Antonio Martinez; and his nieces and nephews Jay’Lise Moran, Julianna Moran, Jiselle Encarnacion, Ariel Martinez, Leonardo Romo III, Joseph Moran, Carina Martinez, Jeremiah Moran Jr., Noah Romo, and Marla Escalera. They were his inspiration to keep fighting. He was committed to teaching them the importance of good family values and how family time was the most important.

He taught us all how to value even the smallest of things and to be grateful for all that we have. Eduardo would say that no accomplishment is too small as long as you tried. Eduardo was a beautiful son who loved his mother deeply. Toward the end of his life, he became her companion and modeled Christ in every moment. No matter what obstacle came Eddie’s way, he never let it change his bright personality or his positive outlook on life. He truly was a great role model. He always took life head on and never let it slow him down.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 15 at Grand Rapids First - Prayer Chapel, 2100 44th St. SW, Wyoming, Michigan, with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Pastor Jeremiah Moran, Sr. will officiate. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Grand Rapids. In memory of Eduardo, contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
