
Ed was born in Grand Rapids on October 19, 1935. He served his Country with the U.S. Air Force and he was an avid fisherman and painter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackob and Nellie Battjes DeBoer; brother, Marvin DeBoer; sister, Diane DeBoer. Surviving are his wife Donna, whom he married on June 22, 1990; three children, Edward Barb DeBoer, Michael DeBoer, and Laurie DeBoer all of Georgia; two step-sons, J.R. Raylene Boutwell, and Donald Roseanne Boutwell both of Grand Rapids; 13 grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Fosberg of Wyoming; sisters-in-law, Shirley DeBoer, Audrey Jim Johnson, and Gail Jones; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service for “Big Ed” will be held Saturday, 10 AM at the Cook Memorial Chapel east building, 4235 Prairie SW, with Rev. Thomas Hough officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may meet his family Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Those unable to attend the visitation or memorial service may sign the family’s Memory Book at www.cookfuneralservices.com.
