Edward Donald Van Van Oostendorp

Edward Donald Van Oostendorp, age 85, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2012. Ed was proud to be an Army/Air Force Veteran. He was a Postal Carrier for over 30 years. Ed was preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-six years, Marilyn.

Ed was a loving Dad to his children: Cherrie and Phil Ewalt, Scott and Cyndy Van Oostendorp, Patti and Dale Fulkerson. He was a cherished Grandpa to: Lindsay and Johnathan Orwig, Marc and Jenny Ewalt and expected great-grandaughter Lexie, Jamee and Steve Bacinski, Kylee and Paul De Boer and Jesse Fulkerson. He is also survived by his siblings and their spouses: Charloette Ibershoff, Virginia Van Oostendorp, Barb and Harold Minnema, and Gertie Van Oostendorp; also his special friend Dorothy Sarber; many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families, and many dearly loved friends. Ed was a long-time member of Fair Haven Reformed Church. He enjoyed serving as an elder in his church and delivering meals-on-wheels, golfing, watching his grandchildren participate in sports, bicycling, traveling and being on the board of the Parkside Condo Association. The family would like to thank the staff of Sheldon Meadows and Faith Hospice for their wonderful care of Ed and kindness to the family. Those planning on an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Gilda's Club or Faith Hospice.

Visitation with the family will be held from 2 - 4pm and 7 - 9pm, Monday, February 20th at Cook Funeral Home in Jenison, 1889 Baldwin. Memorial service will be held at 11am on Tuesday February 21st at Fair Haven Reformed Church with Rev. Harvey Heneveld officiating.
