This one-of-a-kind spirit had many talents: professional roller skater, water skiing, dancing, sewing, knitting, camping, doll-making, crafts and kayaked at the age of 90. She was a loving mother to Nancy (Bob Patterson) Jeltema and Roger (Beth) Waivio, doting grandmother of three, and one great-grandchild. She was a special friend to Bob Shaffer who she loved to go to dances with and work in his woodshop. Skippy was a good friend, generous, 4-H and Scout leader, and room mother. She was also known for her wild socks. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Per her request, no services will be held.
To honor her, please pass on a kindness to others as she always did.
Thanks to son-in-law Bob Patterson for going above and beyond to help Nancy take care of mom especially during these last sad and difficult months. Thanks to the staff at Samaritas - The Terraces for making it her home for the past three years and thanks to Kindred Hospice for their care during the last two weeks.
The family welcomes memories and messages in their online guest book at www.cookcares.com.
