George Gibbs Jr., age 86, passed away, Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Sunrise Assisted Living after a very short battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, three brothers and three sisters. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 61 years, Vera Gibbs (Johnson) and their nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Cook Funeral Home in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (west building). Funeral services will be held 4:30 PM Wednesday at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building). Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery.
