George “Skip” Holt, age 84, went home to be with his Savior Sunday, February 20, 2022. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack, and his son, Jeff. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Linda; children George (Chris) Holt, Karen (Randy) Hagerman; grandchildren Stephen Holt, George Jr. (Felicia) Holt, Lindsay (Joe) Fedewa, Danielle (Bob) Evanoff, Jared (Kelli) Holt; great-grandchildren Tyler, Brooklyn, Makenna, Gage, Camilla, Jackson, Valerie, and Hayden.
Skip served his country as a paratrooper in the 85th and 101st Divisions of the United States Army. After retirement, he spent a lot of his time in his barn working on wood projects. Those included anything from fine woodworking to refinishing and building furniture. He enjoyed being outdoors, mowing, and planting trees on their 40 acres. Skip and Linda also went on many adventures traveling together to every continent except Antarctica.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at Cook Funeral Home (West building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418, with visitation one hour prior.
