

Gerrit spent his life being a steward of God’s ground on his farm in Imlay City, MI and he proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
Gerrit is survived by his wife of 71 years Fannie; his four daughters Cheryl (Jay) Seadorf, Connie (Paul) Dungey, Carol (Doug) Tiemeyer and Cindy (Winn) Jewett; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; his brothers Edward (Jeanette) Timmer and John Timmer Jr., his sister Gertrude Visser as well as many extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Abe, Kriena, Riena, Mary, Gert and one grandson Jason Douglas Tiemeyer.
Funeral services for Gerrit will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27 at the Providence Christian Reformed Church, 7730 Eastern Ave., S.E., Grand Rapids, MI. Interment will be at the Winchester Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 26 at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center Chapel, 2067 - 84th St., Byron Center, MI and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Appalachia Reach Out or Providence Christian Reformed Mission Fund.
