Gretchen Frances Gebben

GEBBEN Gretchen Frances Gebben (Beverwyk) age 92, of Hudsonville went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, April 29, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lambert Gebben; her son Raymond Gebben; sisters Mina Bosgraaf, Edith Westmaas and special friend Henry Nyhuis. She is survived by her daughters Elaine (Bob) Biesbrock of Hudsonville, and Ruth (Rich) Postma of Holland; her grandchildren Bob (Ginger) Biesbrock, Sheri (Joe) Chapin, Jeff (Nicole) Gebben, Ryan (Maryjane) Miedema, Jodi (Josh) Juzwik and Jami (Robert) Gibson; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson. Her surviving family members are her sister Dorothy DeWitt, brother Jack (Nellie) Beverwyk; sister Sylvia Hill and brother-in-law Kenneth Westmaas. Also surviving are her former daughter-in-law Gail (Jim) Hoolsema and her family. Gretchen married the love of her life, Lambert Gebben on July 18, 1940. They raised their 3 children in Hudsonville in the family home built by Lambert. Gretchen lived there for 72 years. Her life was one of joyful service. She served her Lord as a Sunday school teacher for 35 years. She loved music. Any song you asked her to play on the piano, she could play by ear. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. All those whose lives she touched will remember her with love.

Visitation with the family will be held from 2 - 5pm Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Cook Funeral Home (West Building) 4235 Prairie St SW, Grandville. Funeral services will be at 11am Monday, May 6, 2013 at Grace Community Church 3500 New Holland Rd, Hudsonville, MI. Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery.
