

On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, Helen Alice Moon, age 89, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, went to join her Lord and Savior and her recently departed husband of 72 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Moon; son, Ken Moon; infant son, Timothy Moon; son-in-law, Mike Van Dam; parents Charles and Laura Wilkerson; and in-laws Paul and Dorothy Moon. She will be lovingly missed by her children Judy Van Dam, Nancy (Joe) DeLaCruz, and Chris (Vickie) Moon; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Helen will be remembered as a strong and devoted matriarch who instilled a lasting work ethic across generations. Together with her beloved husband, she was a successful business owner, provider, and a steady guiding presence for her family. Known for her honesty and straightforward nature, Helen shared her thoughts openly, always with a caring heart behind her words. She deeply cared for those close to her and expressed that love in her own sincere and genuine way.
Helen was also known for her remarkable memory and keen business sense. She took a genuine interest in the lives of her family and friends and remembered the details that mattered most. Even as her memory began to fade, she continued to ask about others and how they were doing, reflecting her enduring thoughtfulness.
She was generous by nature, often giving to others whenever she saw a need. Helen never stopped caring for her loved ones, always wanting to help in whatever way she could.
She will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2026, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m., at Cook Memorial Chapel, 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan.
