
Jack had been a member of Holy Cross Lutheran church.
He had served his country during WWII and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and several Masonic organizations including the Free and Accepted Masons, Doric Lodge No. 342, Grand Rapids Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Trye Counsel, DeMolai Commandery, Scottish Rite, Saladin Shrine and the Royal Order of Scotland.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 61 years Carol.
Also surviving are his children, Mark Kathleen Eckels of VA and Nancy Kirk Parent of Jenison, MI; grandchildren, Kelly Chris Lee, JR Mills, Jessica Greg Giordano, and Jennifer Eckels; two sisters, Patricia M. Dupler of Westerville, OH and Janet Y. Gilmore of TX; as well as his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1481 Baldwin, Jenison, MI 49428, with Rev. Scott Sommerfeld and Rev. Walter Roberts officiating.
Relatives and friends may meet Jack’s family Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home west building 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, MI.
