
Mr. Bylsma was a member of Calvary Church and a World War II veteran serving in the European Theater, including the Battle of the Buldge and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Helen Bylsma.
Surviving are his wife Ruth Bylsma; his children, Richard James Bylsma of Irons, Marlene and Darrell Walters of Grand Rapids, Ruth and Terry Eggelston of Hastings, Martin and Pat Lantinga of Grandville, Gerald and Bernadette Lantinga of El Cajon, CA, Phyllis and Jack Price of Hastings, Samuel and Sally Lantinga of Monomonee Falls, WI, and Gordon and Deb Lantinga of Caledonia; 31 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; and his special nieces and nephew.
The funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at Calvary Church 777 East Beltline NE with Pastor Joe Gerkin officiating.
Interment will be in Rosedale Memorial Park.
Relatives and friends may meet his family on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville 4235 Prairie St. SW - west building.
Contributions in memory of Mr. Bylsma may be made to Calvary Church or Rest Haven Homes.
