Jane A. Baker

Jane A. Baker, age 74 of Grandville, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 55 years, Randy Baker, and her beautiful family: children Jason Baker, Ryan (Heather) Baker, Mark (Sara) Baker, Ross (Sithan) Baker, and Robin VandenToorn Baker; grandchildren Claire (Alex) Dupree, Jack Baker, Lucy Baker, Will Baker, Ellery Baker, Caroline Baker, Griffin Baker, Kendall Baker, Paris Baker, Christian Baker, and Harrison Baker; sisters Sallie Saless and Jann (Michael) Jaffe; sister-in-law, Pat (Mike) Gryzb; brothers-in-law Jeff Baker and Rob (Annette) Baker.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jake and Marion Dutmer; sister, Carol Dutmer; brothers-in-law Bijan Saless and Steven Baker; sisters-in-law Kathy Baker and Gayle Baker; and grandson, Brendan Hope Baker.

Jane was born and raised in Wyoming, Michigan, near Lamar Park, where she loved to go swimming, ice skating, and sledding. She met Randy in the fifth grade, and so began their history together. Jane was born to be a mother. Her greatest joys were her boys and grandchildren. She worked for Wyoming Public Schools for 25 years as a secretary and loved her interactions with staff and students, and always had great stories to share.

Jane passed peacefully from this life to her place in Heaven after a life well lived, thankful for the many blessings she was given. Her memory will live in the hearts of the many people who loved her.

A visitation memorial will be held from 12-3 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Cook Memorial Chapel (East Building), 4235 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, Michigan. A memorial service will be held at the same location at 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
