Jane Berends, age 72, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 15, 2021. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Brian Schultz. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Berends; children Melissa (Brian) Troost, Marla (Ryan) Wilkinson, and Thomas Berends; grandchildren Raymond, Conner, Evan, Brandon, Ellery, and Delainey; siblings Mitzi VanderKamp, Marge (Pete) Kobylinski, and Judi (Sandy) Mills; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jane had a lifelong passion for education and served countless kids through her teaching, tutoring, and after-school programs. She was passionate about the ministry of her church, Cedar Presbyterian. She also loved to follow her grandchildren’s sporting events, no matter the sport.
Visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Cedar Presbyterian Church, 2025 Baldwin St., Jenison, MI 49428. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Cedar Presbyterian Church, with visitation from 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to service. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Jane, contributions may be made to Cedar Presbyterian Church handicap accessible upgrade fund.
