
Mr. Vlietstra was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Etta Vlietstra; and brother Andrew.
Joe is survived by his wife of 55 years Eleanor Rietberg; children, Calvin Barb Vlietstra, Joellyn Overbeek, Marc Deb Vlietstra; grandchildren, Jeff and Eric Robinson, Jake, Justine, Judd and Michael Vlietstra. Also surviving are two sisters, Lena Plooster and Cathy Roger Tuinstra; one brother Adrian June Vlietstra; two brothers-in-law, Roger Evelyn Rietberg, Warren Lois Rietberg; one sister-in-law Verna Magnuson; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday 1 p.m. at 8th Reformed Church 841 Burton St. SW, Wyoming with Pastor Evert Fikse officiating.
Interment Grandville Cemetery.
The family will meet with relatives and friends Wednesday 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville 4235 Prairie St. SW - west building.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland Home.
