
John was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Leona Hoffmeister. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 63 years, Donna Daly; his three sons, Dennis Peggy Daly, Bruce Penny Daly, Tom Rebecca Daly; his grandchildren, Jennifer and Megan Daly, Sean and Kathleen Daly; step-grandchildren. Bernadine Joseph Kloska, Annette Cowdin; his step-great grandchildren, Alex and Rachel Kloska, Keith, Kevin, and Kaitlin Cowdin; his brother, Bob Anne Daly; sister, Carol George Wierenga; brother-in-law, Frank Hoffmeister; many nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Carl Chamberlain.
John served meritoriously in the Army Air Forces in WWII as a bomber radio operator, flying 32 missions including battle campaigns in the North Appenines, Po Valley and the Rhineland, earning 3 Bronze Stars, Air Medal and Presidential Citation for meritorious service. John was also a qualified expert marksman. John retired from U.S. Plywood Corp. as an architectural service representative.
Private family burial services were held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens November 3, 2005.
A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2005, at the Cook Funeral Home, in Grandville east building 4235 Prairie St. SW.
