
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dora and Clara De Boer; brothers,Clarence “Shorty” De Boer and Chris GretaDe Boer; brothers-in-law Henry Bruinsma and John DeYoung.
John is survived by his wife of 54 years MaryLee; children, John Jan Van Wyk, Ken De Boer, Roger De Boer, Chris Jay Maddox, KarenNorm Zondervan, Vicky Steve Berkenpas, and Barb Snyder; grandchildren, Jessica Snyder, Sarah, James “Tug” and Tyler “T.J.” Maddox, Jenilyn and Ryan Zondervan, and Dylan Berkenpas; brothers and sisters, Henry June De Boer, PeterMaeDe Boer, Jenny De Boer, Martha Bruinsma, and Pearl DeYoung; sister-in-law Jean De Boer; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at South Grandville Christian Reformed Church 4130 Wilson Ave. with Rev. Daniel Mouw officiating.
Interment will be in Grandville Cemetery.
The family will meet with relatives and friends Thursday 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from the Cook Funeral Home, Grandville 4235 Prairie St. SW - west building.
