He was a brother figure to me and I will always remember the nights we'd talk for hours, the laughs, the night he crashed at my place because he was convinced the cops were chasing him :), the marriage pact that was more a joke than a real thing, and most importantly the time he humiliated some guy that broke my heart in public. I will NEVER forget him and I guess it's time for another memorial tattoo.

John always had a smile on his face regardless of his day and went out of his way to help others. I was amazed by his artistic abilities; It will be nice seeing his work within the bingo hall. His sense of humor, kindness and smile will greatly be missed but knowing he's watching over us will guide us forward.

My condolences and prayers that God give you all strength through this hard time go to the friends and family of John. I only knew John through him coming into the Walgreens in Byron Center. Although I didn't know him well I could always recognize him when he'd walk up to the counter because of his genuinely kind smile. He was always nice and shared a smile that was contagious to all of us in the pharmacy. I'm glad we got to experience his kind visits into the pharmacy,he will be greatly missed.

I don't even know where to start; I have so many fond memories of John that were created throughout the many years of being friends. He was one of the wittiest,and most clever out of the few who could make me laugh within seconds! It was never a dull moment with John. He had a heart of gold, along with that big pretty boy smile to go with:) You will never be forgotten.

John, was a good friend even thou we haven't talked in a long time. I have a lot of great memories of him from High School. Sweet is the memory of distant friend! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart, but the sun returns in the morning; your memories will remain. I will miss you buddy, but I wont forget you.

My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to John's family. Although I haven't hung out with John since high school, I still talk about and will always remember those times. The 3 on 3 Gus Macker tournaments with me, Dan Kroll and John (still have the trophy), "cruisen the strip in Grand Haven," going to cedar point together, listening and rapping (well trying to rap) to Too Short, and all the other great memories we created! John was one of the wittiest guys I have ever met and he would always make people laugh no matter how down someone was...I know I am not alone when I say, "Thank you for making life fun and funny!"

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." I am beside my self with sad emotions about a kid who lived life and was real with everyone. He had a hollywood smile and loved to make others laugh. Having fun with his kids, family, and friends was at the heart of his life. John Glenn Stryker will always be one of my students and his spirit will never be forgotten. My condolences to his parents, brothers and family for the sudden loss of a great guy! God Bless.
