As much as people don't like to be a nuisance, I will forever miss calling and saying hi to Mrs. Brower and hear her say, "Hey Wayne, it's nuisance on the phone!" I loved her so much and even when Andi and I stopped being in touch, she and Mr. Brower still treated me as if I was one of their own kids. I will forever miss her warm laugh and her loving hugs. She had an impact on my life and I will never forget the love she showed me, her foster kids and and everyone else she came in contact with. I love you Mrs. Browerand you too Mr. Brower!! You will be forever remembered and loved.

My dear friend Kay: I look forward to seeing you again my dear friend. I am grateful to Jesus for making us a way.... Dear precious Kay.. I remember the hob nail creamer and sugar set, with S&P shakers that first showed me how special you were when you thought to see I had some "beautiful" and not just practical. The same thing happened after Keith was born. We were all so poor but we didn't know it! You gave me a blouse covered with flat lace instead of a gift for the baby! You said "Mama needs something too!" I think I wore that blouse to church for 5 years or more!! Your kind of love, my friend, was so special. We enjoyed coffee all the years we raised our kids. With Shirl, Stell, Arlene, you and I with a TON of kids not in school yet! We had to have Wayne or Rol pick each other up so we could have the car to go... Then we discovered Pizza!! What fun! We were soon trying to make a better pizza than Fricano's had - and we'd get together for cards and pizza making. How many games of set back didn't we have fun with!! And that Wayne always cheated!! We just knew he did!! We laughed, we cried, we shared our deepest frustrations and dreams. We were friends.. We shared our recipes, our ways to keep our houses and clothes cleaner etc etc. I watched you share your lives with a whole bunch of little kids who needed you and you never kept them the minimum time - I remember how hard it was for you to let them go and how I cried for you and with you when that happened. You are my special friend Kay, the lady with the big heart who loved to give and give and give; and gave your life and love to anyone who needed you. Thank you Father, for crossing my path with one of the most valuable women in my life. I love you Kay and I will see you later. Jo

Wayne, I am sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful woman. I have good memories of our time spent together with all those foster kids and our friendship. I know she has a mansion in heaven and a special place in Gods loving arms.

In memory of Kathryn Jean Setsma Brower, Oh, my! This is going back many years. I lived across the street from Kathy's grandma, the Meulenberg's, on Batavia Place. When Kathy's parents, John and Cora Setsma, visited with Cora's mother, I had the opportunity of playing with mainly John and EllaMae, probably because Kathy was just the "little" sister at that time. My brother-in-law, Gerard Boot came from The Netherlands when he was about 18 years old, and boarded with Kathy's grandma, Mrs. Meulenberg. Later he married my sister, Connie Kwekel. When grandma Meulenberg aged and could not stay alone, she was taken in and made her home with the Setems family. Gerard and Connie often took me to their home on Hall Street, which gave me such a good time playing with John, EllaMae, and Kathy. I visited there very often. Sorry that as we got older our friendship faded, and I for one, lost tract of the family. Although I do remember Johnny going to medical school, and later saw him in a wheelchair, and felt so badly when he passed away. Hope this well revive some refreshing memories of long ago.
