Kenneth Edward Bart

Kenneth Edward Bart, age 77, went to be with the Lord Friday December 29, 2023, with his family by his side. Ken was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and graduated from Creston High School and Grand Rapids Junior College. He served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam and worked over 30 years in the Meijer IT department.

He was a man who loved God and his family. He had a great sense of humor that always made his family laugh. He was very generous and always willing to help others. He was an avid Michigan State fan and a football season ticket holder for 40 years. His family proclaims him as a Michigan State sports historian. He enjoyed spending time with his family vacationing at Disney World, Mackinac Island, and sporting events at Michigan State. Ken and Dixie were able to enjoy many trips together, the last one to the Holy Land. He enjoyed spending his time on the golf course, collecting Michigan State memorabilia, and making albums of the pictures he took. He spent many hours in the bleachers watching his grandchildren participate in cheer competitions, lacrosse games, and band competitions. He was a member of Daybreak Community Church and served there for many years.

Ken is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dixie; daughter and son-in-law Kerri and Nick Jenison; grandchildren Arianna, Aiden, and Ava; sister, Janey Douglas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Preceding Ken in death is his son, Joseph; parents Edward and Mary Lucille (Lehnen) Bart; sister, Mary Lynn and Robert Hillebrand; father-in-law and mother-in-law George and Catherine Hurlbut; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Patricia and Arthur Warning.

A celebration of Ken's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Daybreak Church, 3501 Baldwin Street, Hudsonville, MI, with Pastor Geoff Eckart officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ken's honor to Daybreak Community Church or American Lung Association for IPF research.
